Ryan Silver + Silver Waves Media bring heavy hitters together at the men's Final Four in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TX - San Antonio is certainly the place to be if you're a college basketball fan this weekend, as we are now 48 or so hours away from Florida, Auburn, Duke and Houston getting one step closer to playing closer for a national title.

But while the action on the court will certainly be the focus of most people's attention - off the court is where the excitement really begins. And at the center of some of this week's biggest events is West Coast power broker Ryan Silver and Silver Waves Media.

Silver is hosting two of the biggest events in all of San Antonio this weekend, each designed to bring the basketball community together - in this ever-evolving time of change in college sports.

The first event will be Thursday afternoon with his annual "Silver Waves Power Lunch" a place designed to bring together the 75 brightest young assistant coaches in college basketball - assistants that are on the verge of becoming head coaches.

And in this case it isn't even totally fair to say assistants that "are on the verge" of being head coaches, since some of the original invitees have been called up to the big chair in recent weeks. Among those were invited to the Power Lunch that have since become head coaches include Jai Lucas (formerly a Duke assistant, now the Miami head coach), former Alabama assistant Ryan Pannone (now the head coach at Arkansas State) and Ali Farokhmanesh who was recently tabbed to replace Niko Medved as the Colorado State head coach.

The Power Lunch though is just Day 1 of activity in San Antonio as Friday will feature Silver's NIL Global Conference.

The event, which debuted this fall in Las Vegas will be even bigger and better in San Antonio, with all of the heaviest hitters in the NIL space. It includes AD's from across the country, prominent media members from Fox Sports, On3 and 247 Sports, as well lawyers, collective representatives and more.
