The nation's largest NIL event is coming to Las Vegas

In the last few years you've probably heard the expression "college sports is evolving at a rapid rate." With the implementations of the transfer portal, NIL a House Settlement coming, that is certainly an accurate assessment.

But while it's totally fair to say "college sports is rapidly evolving," it's more than fair to say the same about the NIL space. What once started as an opportunity for athletes to make a couple extra bucks signing autographs or posting about the local pizza shop on social media has turned into a multi-million-dollar business, with schools across the country racing to raise every last dollar they can to keep up with the competition.

So, how did we get here and what's coming next?

Well, that's what an innovative NIL event, bringing together the titans of the industry, hopes to find out this week.

That event, the "2024 NIL Power Conference" will be hosted by Silver Waves Media founder Ryan Silver in Las Vegas this coming Friday, October 18th. And it will bring together the biggest power players in college sports administration, media and the agent space to find out.

A full day of panels will dive into the intricacies of the current NIL space, but also where things are going, with a long list of leaders in the space sharing their personal experiences. Among those expected to speak, include:

• Walker Jones, leader of the "Grove Collective" at Ole Miss and Dan Furman, who runs Louisville's "Circle 502" collective

• NIL power agent Daniel Poneman

• AD's from both power conferences and smaller schools

• Media personalities Pete Nakos (On3) and Aaron Torres (FOX)

Plus, the event will feature two special guests: College basketball coaching icon Lon Kruger (UNLV, Oklahoma among others) who will receive the event's lifetime achievement award. And Adrian Wojnarowski, who left a career in media to lead Saint Bonaventure basketball's NIL efforts.
